Green by Nature is pleased to announce we have successfully retained the Open Spaces, and Arboriculture and Vegetation maintenance contract with Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC), following a competitive open procurement process, along with being awarded the High Profile Parks and Reserves maintenance work
The new contract, which begins on 1 July 2025, will see Green by Nature deliver these essential maintenance services on behalf of residents and ratepayers.
“We’re honoured to continue our partnership with QLDC in maintaining the district’s valued green spaces,” said Matthew Bailey, Executive GM, Green by Nature NZ. “This contract renewal along with the High Profile Parks and Reserves maintenance work, reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality operational services that support the community’s recreation, wellbeing, and environmental goals.”
The contract award follows QLDC’s rigorous selection process. Key criteria focused on enabling Council to deliver on its biodiversity and climate commitments, having the right people in the right roles, growing capacity for renewals and capital investment programmes, and delivering value for money.
QLDC Parks Manager of Operations and Contracts Adrian Hoddinott acknowledged the competitive process, stating: “We’d like to thank all those suppliers who submitted tender responses. The more suppliers that want to partner with Council to undertake essential activities across the district, means a more competitive process, driving value for money and ensuring that we get the right people undertaking the right roles and responsibilities.”
Green by Nature looks forward to the onboarding period ahead, as we establish renewed working relationships and operational requirements with Council. Community members will continue to see our vehicles and staff delivering services across the district from 1 July.
This contract renewal and award process demonstrates Green by Nature’s continued commitment to environmental stewardship and community service in the Queenstown Lakes District.
