23-year-old Site Manager Oliver Olsen, who has been with Green Options NSW for two years, has earned consistent praise for his hard work, dedication, and positive attitude. His contributions to the SHORE School in North Sydney have been invaluable.
“Being recognized and being presented with the Apprentice of the Year award has been the icing on the cake of an incredible few years of my life,” Oliver said. “It’s a great way to end what has been an incredibly rewarding, fulfilling, and challenging journey throughout my apprenticeship.”
Oliver continued, “To see that people really do care about you, your work, and the lengths you go to show you enjoy your work is the greatest blessing I could ever ask for.”
Lilly, a first-year apprentice who is quickly making a name for herself in the industry, is known for her willingness to learn, her attention to detail, and her positive attitude.
“Receiving the award means a lot to me, and it has pulled on my heartstrings in a good way,” Lilly said. “As I’ve had the chance to reflect on my growth and achievements, both professionally and personally throughout my apprenticeship, I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve accomplished.”
Lilly continued, “Stepping into this industry shortly after graduating high school, where I had chosen horticultural studies in Year 11, sparked my passion for this field. Unfortunately, the class ended before I graduated due to a lack of teacher availability, so I was unable to complete my Certificate II in Horticulture. After graduating, I was left with an unmet desire to learn more about our industry, so I stepped into this trade as a shy, young, first-year apprentice, intimidated by a world I was eager to explore.”
“But with the encouragement and support of my team and supervisors, Brooke, Tony, Joe, and Scott, I’ve grown tremendously,” Lilly said. “Their guidance has been invaluable, and I’m grateful for their belief in me.”
We are continuously committed to investing in our apprentices and providing them with the support and training they need to succeed.
Congratulations to Oliver and Lilly on their well-deserved awards!
