We recently participated in a collaborative forum held on Thursday, March 7th, 2024, at La Trobe Sports Park in celebration of Parks Week.
This event, facilitated by Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA), brought together industry leaders to delve into the design, development, and ongoing stewardship of this vital public greenspace.
The event featured informative presentations from key industry figures:
- Nick Lambert, Senior Manager – Sport Infrastructure and Operations at La Trobe Sport, presented a detailed account of La Trobe Sports Park’s journey, from its initial conception to its current status as a premier sporting facility.
- Lucas Skelton, Field of Play Team Leader at SPORTENG, provided valuable insights into the design and development considerations that shaped the park’s functionality and aesthetics.
- Our own Dean Jamieson, General Manager Operations (Victoria), discussed our role and ongoing commitment to maintaining La Trobe Sports Park’s open spaces.
- Representatives from Banyule City Council addressed the broader community outcomes achieved through the development of La Trobe Sports Park and explored the evolving expectations for effective open space management.
Following the presentations, attendees embarked on a behind-the-scenes tour of La Trobe Sports Park, gaining firsthand insights into the park’s features and the dedication required for its ongoing maintenance.
We are grateful to all attendees who engaged in the insightful discussions.
