Exciting times are ahead as we look towards next year’s Men’s Rugby World Cup. Eight of the grounds selected as official Outdoor Training Venues for the tournament are cared for by Green by Nature teams, and we can’t wait to help prepare them for the best rugby players in the world. With it being one of the biggest sporting events in the calendar this is a chance for our teams to show the expertise and dedication they bring to every ground, every week, on the world stage.
The Eight Grounds We Care For;
Our teams look after training venues in three of the seven Host Cities: Townsville, Sydney and Perth.
Townsville
- Cowboys Centre of Excellence
- Townsville Sports Precinct
Sydney
- Shore School
- Parramatta Eels Community Centre of Excellence
- NSW Rugby Centre of Excellence
Perth
- HBF Park
- UWA Rugby Club
- Waterbank Training Facility
Getting a Surface World Cup Ready;
A World Cup training pitch has to be firm, even and safe for elite players, session after session. That doesn’t happen in the final week; it’s built over the months leading in.
Over the next year, our teams will focus on:
- Planning around the calendar so each ground peaks in October and November 2027, while staying ready for the clubs, students and communities who use it now
- Building strong roots and good drainage through aeration, soil care and nutrition, so the surface holds up to scrums, rain and heavy use
- Consistent presentation with precise mowing, line marking and attention to detail that teams notice the moment they step on
- Recovery between sessions so every squad gets a quality surface, from its first training run to its last
From tropical Townsville to Sydney and Perth, each region brings different conditions. Our local teams adapt their approach to suit the grass, the soil and the weather they work with every day.
