Landscaper of the Year: Parramatta Park
Parramatta Park led our night, earning Landscaper of the Year for Commercial Maintenance. The site also won Gold and Best in Category in Commercial Maintenance Parklands/Open Spaces, a category where our Newcastle Centre of Excellence also took Gold.
Parramatta Park is a World Heritage-listed, 87-hectare parkland of historic sites, sports fields, established gardens, remnant bushland and waterways. It also hosts major concerts and events. Keeping a site this varied at its best takes year-round care, and this win is a credit to the team who look after it.
Gold and Best in Category
More projects won both Gold and Best in Category, showing the breadth of our work across maintenance and construction. Government House took the honours in Residential Maintenance Over 1500m2, and Fanny Place Playground won in Commercial and Civil Construction Up to $500,000. The Scots College rounded out the group in Commercial Maintenance Resorts/Retirement Communities/Educational Campuses.
Fanny Place Playground in Surry Hills shows the construction side of our work. The City of Sydney upgrade ran from April to December 2024, delivering a children’s playground, renewed gardens and grass areas, new fencing and improved seating. The result is a better local space for the Surry Hills community to enjoy.
The Effort Behind the Awards:
Every one of these results comes down to our people on site. Maintenance awards recognise care that continues week after week, through every season and in all weather, on sites people use every day. Construction awards recognise careful planning and quality workmanship, from the first day on site to handover.
This year’s results span seven categories, covering parklands, school campuses, apartments, an airport and a convention centre. Each site asks something different of our teams, and that range is what makes these awards so rewarding.
